Daniel Koch - Founder, GrowSpace

Daniel Koch has always felt an affinity with nature and dreamed up the GrowSPACE concept through frustration - he believes everyone in any postcode deserves to eat wholesome, organic produce daily, without the hefty price tag. But time and again he kept hitting the same roadblock - people weren't growing their own gardens because of what appeared to be three common issues: a lack of knowledge, a lack of space and a distinct lack of time.

“We teach Australians how to transform any unused space into GrowSPACE with a unique blend of modern innovation and sustainable urban gardening techniques.

And so the GrowSPACE concept takes it all back to basics. Daniel and his crew will come to your space and teach you how to grow, no prior knowledge required! They get a kick out of transforming a challenging environment into a thriving oasis - and to date the business has a 100% success rate with their gardens, big and small. This may not mean that success always comes easily or the first time around, but with patience and adjustments to suit the environment, the result is always the same. A garden will flourish, as will the people who tend to the garden.

Daniel is a firm believer that nature creates calm, and teaching people how to grow their own plants and produce or to simply bring plants into their working or personal lives encourages calm and relieves stress.

From office spaces and balcony gardens to inner city community plots and a recent incredible three day camp and plant workshop at Parliament House in Canberra to commemorate the Australia Day Survival Day weekend, the GreenSPACE concept knows no bounds.

But the message is the same wherever the garden - a little bit of green goes a long, long way. If you can't get out to nature, GrowSPACE will bring nature to you.

GrowSPACE will be installing an incredible green wall within the Vive precinct that will provide the school with herbs, edible flowers and other green delicacies. This collaboration is a perfect fit for Vive - as GrowSPACE teaches people to grow, Vive teaches people to cook. We have the same vision -  to encourage a deeper connection with the food that we grow, harvest, cook and consume.
